Straight answer: Las Vegas is the easiest to sell and the most expensive, Nashville is the best pure nightlife value, and Austin delivers the most weekend per dollar because it is the only one of the three with a real outdoor daytime (lake, golf, hill country) attached to a walkable bar district. Below: what each city costs per guy, what it is best at, and where it falls apart.

The Nine, Ranked by What You Get Per Dollar

#CityTypical cost per guyBasisBest atThe catch
1Austin, TX$700–$1,1002 nights, excl. flightsLake day + golf + BBQ + walkable bars in one weekendAugust heat is brutal; ACL and F1 weekends spike lodging
2Nashville, TN$450–$850Weekend, excl. flightsCheapest real nightlife; Broadway does the work for youDaytime is thin. By Saturday afternoon you are just drinking again
3New Orleans, LA$700–$1,2002–3 daysWalkability. Nobody drives, nobody books transportSummer heat and humidity; festival weekends move prices 40–60%
4Denver, CO$300–$6003 nights, lodging + food + entertainmentThe budget pick, and the cheapest major-metro flightsThe good stuff (mountains) is a drive; altitude wrecks day one
5San Diego, CA$650–$1,1003-day weekend, mid-rangeBest weather of the nine; boat day plus beach plus breweriesSpread out. You will pay for rides between everything
6Las Vegas, NV$800–$2,000Multi-night, excl. flightsZero planning required; everything is in one buildingThe most expensive per guy, and weekend rates run far above weeknights
7Scottsdale, AZ$500–$1,500Weekend, excl. flightsGolf and pool days; the polished, low-chaos optionSummer is genuinely dangerous heat, which is why it is ~30% cheaper Jun–Aug
8Charleston, SC$800–$1,500WeekendFood. Best eating city on this list by a distancePriced like a luxury destination; skews quieter than a big crew wants
9Miami, FL$1,150–$3,600Weekend, varies heavily by areaBeach, boats, and the biggest nightlife ceilingWidest cost spread of any city here. Table service and cover charges add up fast

Read this before you trust the table. These ranges come from published 2025–2026 sources (listed at the bottom), and they are not perfectly like-for-like: trip length and what is included differ by source, which is why the "Basis" column exists. Austin's figure is our own line-by-line Austin cost breakdown at the standard tier, so it is the one we can stand behind hardest. Treat every number as a planning range, not a quote. Savannah, Tampa and Chicago are covered in the regional sections below: we could not find a defensible published per-person figure for them, so we did not invent one.

The Cities, Honestly

Las Vegas

Still the default, and the default for a reason: flights are cheap from everywhere, the hotel is the venue, and nobody has to plan anything. It is also the priciest weekend on this list once you add day clubs, table minimums and the weekend markup. Pick Vegas when the crew is scattered across the country and you want zero planning burden. Skip it if half the group has already had a bachelor party there. We wrote the full head to head: Austin vs. Vegas for a bachelor party.

Nashville

The best value nightlife in the country. Broadway is a half-mile of live music with no cover, which means your bar night costs a fraction of Vegas or Miami. The weakness is daytime: once you have done the pedal tavern and brunch, there is not much of a second act. Best for a two-night, nightlife-first weekend. Full comparison: Austin vs. Nashville.

Austin

The most complete weekend per dollar, and the reason this site exists. You get a genuine outdoor daytime (Lake Travis boat day, real golf, swimming holes), the best BBQ in the country, and a walkable bar district, without Vegas pricing. It is the only city on this list where the daytime is as good as the night. Details: the Austin bachelor party guide.

Scottsdale

Golf, pools, and a calm, well-run version of a bachelor weekend. Great if the crew is a bit older, wants tee times and a resort pool rather than a 2am bar. The heat from June to August is the real constraint, and it is exactly why those months run roughly 30% cheaper. See Austin vs. Scottsdale.

New Orleans

The most walkable city here. You can land, check in, and not get in a vehicle again until you leave, which quietly removes the single most annoying line item of any bachelor weekend. Food and bars are excellent and cheap relative to Miami or Charleston. Summer humidity and festival-weekend pricing are the two things that will wreck it.

Denver

The budget answer, and it is not close. Cheap flights, cheap lodging, good beer, and mountains within reach. The catches are real though: the mountain activities that make Denver worth it are a drive from the city, and altitude will flatten at least one guy on the first night.

San Diego

The best weather of the nine, plus a boat day, beaches and a serious brewery scene. It is the most spread out city on the list, so build a transport line into the budget from the start. Good pick for a crew that wants daytime over nightlife.

Charleston

The food city. If the group cares more about a great dinner than a late night, nothing here beats it. It prices like the luxury destination it has become, and it is quieter than most big crews expect.

Miami

The highest ceiling and the widest cost spread on this list. A beach-and-boat weekend in a rental can be reasonable; a South Beach club weekend with table service is the most expensive thing in this article. Decide which Miami you are booking before anyone books flights.

Best Bachelor Party Cities in the South

The South is the strongest region in the country for this, mostly because the money goes further. Ranked: Austin (best all-round weekend), Nashville (best nightlife value), New Orleans (best walkability), Charleston (best food), then Savannah.

Savannah is the honest wildcard. It has the open-container rule that makes River Street work like Bourbon Street at half the volume, and it pairs well with a Tybee Island beach day. We could not find a credible published per-person weekend figure for Savannah, so we are not going to print one; budget it near Charleston and slightly under, since lodging is cheaper. If your crew is choosing between the two, Charleston is the food trip and Savannah is the drinking trip.

For a Texas-specific breakdown, start with what an Austin weekend actually costs and the daytime activity list.

Best Bachelor Party Cities on the East Coast

The East Coast is where cost discipline matters most, because the good options are also the expensive ones. Charleston and Miami lead on very different budgets. Savannah is the value pick. Nashville is often lumped in here but it is not East Coast, it is Middle Tennessee, and it is cheaper than anything genuinely coastal.

Chicago and New York get suggested constantly and both are hard to justify for a full weekend: lodging and dinner pricing are high, and neither has a daytime activity a group of twelve can do together without a lot of coordination. If someone in your group is pushing a big Northeast city, ask them what the Saturday afternoon plan is. That question usually settles it.

Best Bachelor Party Cities in Florida

Miami is the headline and carries the widest price range of anywhere on this list, from a reasonable rental-and-boat weekend to a table-service weekend that costs more than a wedding. Tampa is the value alternative: a real bar district in Ybor City, cheaper lodging, and boat access without Miami pricing. We do not have a defensible published per-person figure for Tampa, so treat it as "meaningfully under Miami" rather than a specific number.

The Florida trade-off is seasonal and worth stating plainly: hurricane season runs June through November, which is also when the deals appear. If you book Florida in September, buy the refundable rate.

Best Bachelor Party Cities for Golf

Scottsdale is the golf trip, full stop: the density and quality of desert courses is unmatched and the resort infrastructure is built around foursomes. Austin is the best golf-plus-everything-else city, because you can play a real Hill Country course in the morning and still have a lake day and a bar night. San Diego is third on weather alone.

If golf is the anchor of your weekend, the Austin version is priced out course by course here: Austin bachelor party golf, with published weekend rates.

Where Austin Actually Lands

We plan Austin weekends, so read this with that in mind. Austin is not the cheapest city on this list; Denver and Nashville are. It is not the easiest to sell; that is Vegas. What Austin has is the best ratio: it is the only city here where the daytime is genuinely worth showing up for on its own. A Lake Travis boat day, a real golf morning and the best BBQ in the country are three things Nashville cannot give you and Vegas charges a fortune for.

The honest case against Austin: August is punishing, and lodging prices go strange during ACL, SXSW and F1. Book around those and it is the best value weekend in the country. Here is a real Friday-to-Sunday itinerary, and where to actually stay.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best bachelor party city in the USA?

It depends on what the weekend is for. Las Vegas is the easiest to organize, Nashville is the best value for nightlife, and Austin gives you the most complete weekend per dollar because it has a real outdoor daytime as well as a walkable bar district. For a golf-first trip, Scottsdale wins.

What is the cheapest bachelor party city?

Of the cities with published figures, Denver is the cheapest at roughly $300 to $600 per person for a three-night weekend covering lodging, food and entertainment, helped by having some of the cheapest major-metro flights. Nashville is next at roughly $450 to $850.

How much does a bachelor party cost per person?

Nationally, surveys put the average around $1,400 to $1,500 per attendee, but that figure includes travel and is heavily skewed by people who fly. Guests who drive average closer to $1,000. City weekends excluding flights typically land between $450 and $2,000 per guy depending on the destination and how much of the budget goes to lodging.

What are the best bachelor party cities in the South?

Austin for the most complete weekend, Nashville for nightlife value, New Orleans for walkability, Charleston for food, and Savannah as the cheaper alternative to Charleston. The South generally offers the best value in the country for this, because lodging and food cost less than on either coast.

Is Austin or Nashville better for a bachelor party?

Nashville is cheaper and has stronger concentrated nightlife on Broadway. Austin has a far better daytime: a lake day, real golf and swimming holes, plus the better food scene. If the trip is two nights and nightlife-focused, Nashville. If it is a full weekend and you want something to do before dark, Austin.

Where These Numbers Come From

Cost ranges compiled July 2026 from published sources: Austin from our own Austin cost breakdown (standard tier, two nights, excluding flights); national averages from The Knot's bachelor and bachelorette party cost survey; per-city ranges from AvantStay's destination guide, Upgraded Points' cost analysis, Triton Charters (San Diego) and BookNOLA (New Orleans). Sources use different trip lengths and inclusions, so figures are planning ranges rather than quotes, and the "Basis" column states what each one covers. Where no defensible published figure existed (Savannah, Tampa, Chicago) we said so instead of estimating.
